The Association and its members are often asked by enthusiasts, “what’s the best off-road *product* I should purchase for my kit”? We get similar requests from manufacturers who may not have a mechanism to independently test and evaluate their product, in a variety of locations throughout the world, by experienced 4WD operators who educate and perform these tasks daily. To meet that demand the I4WDTA has established a Product Recommendation Program (PRP) for off-road products, providing manufacturers an independent, real-world evaluation and recommendation by our international Certified Trainers (product evaluators).
Typically, products are submitted to a number of evaluators for testing in their geographically distributed locations for a period of rigorous evaluation. When complete, those evaluations are compiled from a standardized custom built tool, and quantified for final review by I4WDTA. The tool and summary is provided to the manufacturer with our recommendation and if qualified, may receive award as an “I4WDTA Recommend Product” as highly desirable for consumers to employ in their recreational, commercial, or military Off Highway vehicle (OHV) travels.
The I4WDTA PRP is cost effective – the compensation we request is that this product be provided to our evaluators to keep for their further use as professional trainers and that it be made available at a reduced rate to our other I4WDTA Certified Trainers for potential incorporation into their training programs. Your benefit as a manufacturer or business is the ability to use the I4WDTA PRP award in your marketing and packaging materials for that product only, and the continued demonstration of that product to students/consumers by our Certified Trainers. Some of the United States and Australia’s leading OHV industry manufacturers have taken advantage of the PRP, including Factor55, MAXTRAX, HiLift Jack, and Firestone Tires.
